Build Professional Connections

One of the best ways to prepare yourself for entering the geoscience workforce is to introduce yourself to industry professionals. The UCR Earth Science Department has strong connections with local geoscience professional organizations like the Inland Geological Society and the Inland Empire Chapter of the Association of Engineering Geologists. UCR students receive free membership in both associations and are invited to attend their monthly meetings, where they can meet local professionals, learn about the types of work that geologists do in Southern California, and start building a network of professional connections.
